PLAY Program Facilitator


Resilient Youth is looking for a passionate and energetic person to join our PLAY facilitating team for 2025.

You would be co-facilitating single day in-school programs where we work with students to develop their teamwork and leadership skills through games and activities.

Schools are a dynamic environment, so we are looking for someone that takes initiative, is a good problem solver, is patient and flexible, and most importantly has a good sense of humour!

If you have experience working with young people, as an educator, youth worker, outdoor recreation leader, or any related fields, we’d love to hear from you.

We are offering a casual position that may expand as demand increases.

Position Title: Program Facilitator
Employment Type: Casual (approx 10 days per term, flexible)
Remuneration: $400 per day (includes superannuation)
Location: Victorian-based, on-site school delivery
Reporting To: Programs Manager

 

About Us

Resilient Youth Australia (RYA) is dedicated to improving the mental health and resilience of young people through science-backed surveys and evidence-based programs.

 

Position Overview

This role offers a rewarding opportunity to build young people’s resilience and leadership skills through play and collaborative activities. As a member of the team, you will co-facilitate fun, one day sessions focus onpromoting communication, teamwork, and leadership while directly engaging young people in games as well as team building and problem-solving activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a two-member team to deliver dynamic and engaging sessions for young people and educators.

  • Co-lead on-site school programs, including RYA’s PLAY Program, listed on the Victorian Department of Education Schools Mental Health Fund Menu. Learn more: resilientyouth.org/play

  • Collaborate with team members to uphold organisational standards and promote positive mental health and resilience strategies.

 

Essential Attributes

  • Passion for working with young people: Demonstrated enthusiasm for empowering young people through play-based learning and fostering positive outcomes.

  • Team facilitation expertise: Proven experience working collaboratively in delivering to and actively engaging young people.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills: Ability to connect with children and young people while collaborating effectively with educators, and facilitation teams.

 

Essential Criteria

  • Current Working with Children Check.

  • Experience in classroom or group management and facilitating games.

  • Own car and licence; willingness to travel beyond metropolitan Melbourne, including overnight.

  • Ability to maintain accurate session records, participant feedback, and evaluations.

  • Proactive contributions to program development and improvement.

  • Strong organisational skills for planning and logistics.

 

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

  • Qualifications in teaching, youth work, outdoor recreation, sports coaching, before and after school care.

  • Mental Health First Aid Certificate.

  • First Aid Certificate.
