The Resilience Survey is an annual student wellbeing measure trusted by thousands of Australian schools. By implementing this comprehensive tool, you'll gain valuable insights to:

Developed in collaboration with Professors Jill Dorrian and Kurt Lushington at the University of South Australia, the Resilience Survey offers a complete measure of mental health and resilience for students in years 3 to 12:

  • The Resilience Survey is our flagship survey, developed in collaboration with the Department of Psychology at the University of South Australia (UniSA), led by Professor Kurt Lushington and Professor Jill Dorrian.

    It has been administered to more than 900,000+ students across 3,500+ schools in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Bhutan.

    Completed online in class time it collects, analyses, and reports the resilience of young people at a cohort level with all results compared to the national norm.

    The Student Resilience Survey is anonymous, non-identified, all data is aggregated and only reported at the cohort level.

    The Resilience Survey incorporates 6 international gold standard measures of mental health: life satisfaction, hope, coping, anxiety, depression, and connection to nature.

    Specifically, the survey reports against 9 domains of resilience: Positive Relationships, Social Skills, Understanding Self, Safety, Health Mind and Healthy Body, Learning Engagement, Positive Attitude, Positive Values, Positive Contribution.

    Appropriate for age and reading comprehension, 8-18+

    AUD $5 +GST per student, per administration.

  • The Staff Resilience Survey is designed to focus attention on opportunities to improve staff wellbeing.

    The Staff Resilience Survey is an online survey which collects, analyses and reports on the resilience, mental health, and wellbeing of all staff in your school, across the 4 domains of: Student Perception, Self, Job, Workplace.

    The survey is a 60 item measure and takes 10-15 minutes to complete.

    The Staff Resilience Survey was developed in collaboration with the Department of Psychology at the University of South Australia (UniSA), led by Professor Kurt Lushington and Professor Jill Dorrian.

    The Staff Resilience Survey is anonymous, non-identified, all data is aggregated and only reported at the cohort level.

  • Parents and Caregivers are the greatest ally in the development of young people’s resilience, mental health, and wellbeing.  

    The Parents and Caregivers Resilience Survey is an online survey which collects, analyses the thoughts and feelings of your parents across the 4 domains of: Your Child, Your Self, Your School, Online Supervision.

    This survey was developed in collaboration with the Department of Psychology at the University of South Australia (UniSA), led by Professor Kurt Lushington and Professor Jill Dorrian.

    The Parents and Caregivers Resilience Survey is anonymous, non-identified, all data is aggregated and only reported at the cohort level.

    Free of charge when bundled with another Resilient Youth Australia survey.

  • Bullying remains a barrier to learning for a significant number of students. What is the profile of bullying in your school? As a school leader it is unacceptable not to know.

    The No Bullying Survey is a comprehensive online survey which collects, analyses and reports the what, where, how and why of physical, verbal, exclusionary and online bullying across your school. 

    The No Bullying Survey was developed in collaboration with the Department of Psychology at the University of South Australia (UniSA), led by Professor Kurt Lushington, Professor Jill Dorrian and Emeritus Professor Ken Rigby OAM.

    The No Bullying Survey is anonymous, non-identified, all data is aggregated and only reported at the cohort level.

  • The Kindness Survey is designed to help you support the kindness education and mental health of your students.

    The Kindness Survey measures the 9 domains of kindness described in Kind Schools science-backed Kindness Model: CALM, EMPATHETIC, GRATEFUL, ENGAGED, CARING, INCLUSIVE, AWARE, BRAVE, TRUSTWORTHY.

    The Kindness Survey was developed by Dr Sophie Lea (Monash University), Dr Andrew Wicking (Adjunct, University of South Australia) and Mr Peter Wicking OAM (Adjunct, University of South Australia) in collaboration with our research partners Professor Kurt Lushington and Professor Jill Dorrian (University of South Australia) and Dr Mark Kohler (University of Adelaide).

Our survey of more than 3,500 schools and 900,000+ young people aged 8-18 across every state and territory in Australia, has led to the discovery that young people thrive when they feel Connected Protected Respected ™ (CPR).

What is Gemfinder

Our practical survey questions and easy to interpret results can lead directly to easily identified areas for positive action. Gemfinder™ is a powerful new and exclusive feature available in school’s Reporting Portal to assist in this task. 

Gemfinder is groundbreaking survey analysis software developed by our in-house team over a 4-year partnership with our colleagues at the University of South Australia, the WiLDlab at the University of Adelaide and Kings College London. 

Gemfinder generates on demand the statistically meaningful drivers (associated factors) of mental health and wellbeing for your students, leading to a targeted and cohort specific wellbeing response.
