5 biggest changes we see in students after PLAY training

Our PLAY program only started in schools this year, but wow have we seen some results already! There are many goals of PLAY and its training: to enhance children’s resilience, empower them, improve their self esteem, improve their connectedness and benefit their wellbeing.

Designed for primary schools, PLAY has been a breath of fresh air for many schools in Australia. It is probably no surprise to hear that children aren’t playing as much as they used to. We decided to do something about it.

Our PLAY trainers have been watching the magic unfold at schools — here are the changes they have seen within school groups firsthand and heard from teachers and students.

5 biggest changes we see in students after PLAY training

1.     A greater sense of belonging, responsibility and ownership

2.     New friendships and connections forged with younger students/peers

3.     Younger students looking up to and enjoying time 'PLAYing' with PLAY leaders

4.     Students pleased with the opportunity to take lead and action over PLAY in their school

5.     Smiling happy faces after a day of PLAY

What beautiful outcomes we are seeing already!

As these changes suggest, PLAY is doing exactly what it was designed to do.

We are seeing new friendships blossoming, including those between children of different ages. Children are being given the chance to take responsibility and are feeling empowered by it.

Above all, children are playing more – and that’s certainly something we want to see.

“Play is excellent for intellectual and cognitive development skills.
In short, it’s good for development of young brains.”
